Paco Peña — Requiem for the Earth
Presented by Queensland Performing Arts Centre in association with Brisbane Festival
Featuring his flamenco ensemble and choirs from Voices of Biralee.
A profound musical odyssey of passion and redemption, Paco Peña — Requiem for the Earth celebrates our glorious planet while issuing a stark warning: time is running out and we must act now to save the Earth.
In the visceral world of flamenco, joy and sorrow — like hope and despair — constantly intermingle. That amalgam of apparent opposites is the essence of Requiem for the Earth. Legendary flamenco guitarist Paco Peña weaves joy with sorrow while reflecting on humanity's impact on nature.
With lyrics in Spanish and Latin, this stunning performance intricately merges the solemnity of a traditional Requiem with the vibrant energy of flamenco.
This hopeful call to action features world-class musicians from Spain alongside the choral power of Voices of Biralee, urging us to protect our world.
