Meeanjin Songlinez

Embracing Tradition, Inspiring Tomorrow.

Meeanjin Songlinez stands as a premier event of the Brisbane Festival season, offering a profound immersion into the rich tapestry of First Nations culture and creativity. Under the esteemed direction and custodianship of Tribal Experiences Managing Directors, Shannon Ruska, Yuggera-Toorabul man and Kayleen Ruska, Wakka Wakka/Kabi Kabi woman, this event celebrates our community and the extraordinary talent of Queensland’s First Nations artists.

The event will be headlined by Birdz & Fred Leone, cousins by family, but brothers in music. Both artists hail from Ngulungbura Clan of the Butchulla nation with Fred Leone being one of the three Butchulla songmen. Additionally, experience the artistry of HAiZ, Dark Moods, Rochelle Pitt, H-Town and Edgar Conlon as their performances weave tales both ancient and contemporary.

This is more than a concert; it’s a respectful celebration, an homage, and a powerful amplification of First Nations voices. Join us in honouring and embracing the cultural richness and creative brilliance of Meeanjin Songlinez.
