He has collaborated on work presented internationally at Sziget Festival Hungary and ANSAN Street Arts Festival South Korea, and nationally at The Australian Performing Arts Market, State Library Queensland, Anywhere Theatre Festival, Melbourne Fringe Festival, Next Wave Festival, Brisbane Festival, Brisbane Powerhouse, La Boite, Tasdance, Dance Massive, Expressions Dance Company, Metro Arts, and World Theatre Festival. He has performed and exhibited solo work at BEAF Festival, BARI Festival, Fete De La Musique, Wonderland Festival, Under the Radar, Cross-stitch, 2high Festival, and the Judith Wright Centre. Mike was also part of independent band “My Fiction” from 2008 to 2015, and has co-wrote and released: Your Tokyo (2008) – EP; Fire! Romance! Fire! (2010) – Album; Shallow Highs (2013) – Album.
He performed with My Fiction throughout Australia, as well as showcased at the College Music Junction (New York), MUSexpo (Los Angeles) and BigSound (Brisbane), and was a recipient of an Australian Arts Council ArtStart Grant in 2012. Mike’s work frequently revolves around the relationship between sound and space—in particular how sound can be manipulated to control and distort the perspective of an audience.
